Novi — The Outdoorama, geared towards lovers of the outdoors, continues Saturday at the Suburban Collection Showplace.

The show, which began Thursday and runs through Sunday, offers activities and displays on hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, hiking, bird watching and mushroom hunting.

This year's show is already bringing in big crowds, said Henri Boucher, the show's producer. He said attendance was up 4 percent Thursday compared to opening day last year. Close to 10,000 people came to check out the show that first day, said spokesman Tom Huggler.

"We've had a wonderful crowd, even with the bad weather," he said Friday.

Among the highlights for Saturday's show is an open competition for turkey calling from noon to 4 p.m. and the Ultimate Air Dogs competitions at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Other events include demonstrations and tips for catching bigger fish and processing deer meat.

The show runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 14. Children 5 and under are free.
